What's my must have shoe for spring this upcoming season?? It is def the Sam Edelman lace up heeled sandal! I adore the Golden Caramel color and four inch stacked heel, and I cannot wait to get a pair of my very own. I love Sam Edelman brand shoes. They are incredibly well made and a price point this low for such a high quality shoe these days is VERY rare. This spring season the strappy lace up sandal is a HOT look, so whatever variation you choose make sure that it is a versatile color and a heel height that you can wear with shorts, dresses, and cropped jeans.

Shopping Momma Bear Style: Unnatural Dyes Linked To Hyperactivity In Kids' Behavior

Recently, I changed some of my shopping habits to exclude foods with dyes such as; Yellow 5, and Red 40. These dyes are linked to hyperactivity in children, and allergic reactions. The British government has worked toward abolishing the use of these dyes throughout all of Europe. I noticed a big difference in the behaviors of my children after I started limiting the ammount of dyes in their diets. Stores like Whole Foods will not sell products that contain unnatural dyes at their stores. I went canvassing Whole Foods for brands that I could purchase at my local Target, Market Street, and Kroger. I found brands like Annie's Homegrown that are free of unnatural dyes. So, I'm def not saying that you need to watch everything your kiddos put into their mouths (sometimes they just need a slurpee), but if you notice some hyperactivity in your kids' behaviors...then why not give it a try. The Annie's chocolate chip cookies are my kids' fave.

My Orangetheory Fitness Experience: Tales Of A Stagnant Workout

I talk to people all the time about working out. I am definitely no beast at the gym, but I try my hardest to go at least two to four times a week. Lately, I have been feeling stagnant in my workouts, so I started looking at some new options to embed within my routine. I'm def a cardio gal and wanted to incorporate more strength training, but I always feel out of the loop when it comes to what I should be doing. Enter in Orangetheory Fitness. I have seen the ads and heard a lot about it...so I thought why not! I asked a few friends if they were interested in going and all were busy...so I went alone! I know, going to to a class like this by oneself can seem a bit intimidating but Trey made sure I felt comfortable the whole time. The class is different every single time you go, and you are set up with a heart monitor to track your workout when you arrive. The idea is to stay in orange which is your maximum burn. We did strength training with weights, resistance training, treadmill intervals, and rower exercises. The workout is about an hour, and you can DEF feel the burn! I am not coordinated and the last time I did a class (turbo kick) I literally kept making faces at myself in the mirror Modern Family style. I signed up for the once a week option for now, so I can integrate something new into my workout! Also, they offer a teacher discount!

So Today Was Supposed To Be A Gym Day: Tales Of A Tired Working Mom

So...my plan this week was to go to the gym four times. I put it on my calendar and brought my workout clothes. Yesterday, was one of those scheduled days...and you know what I decided not to go. I decided that going home and relaxing was what my body needed...and that even though I wanted to work out ...I needed to listen to my inner voice and chill. Today, is a new day and I am def going to work out...but my head and body are back aligned and it's what they both need. Today is a new day!

So...these little teases of pretty weather have really been getting me down. I'm ready to bust out my sandals and skirts....and to once again feel the warm sun on my bright fluorescent white legs. This lil' black dress from Urban Outfitters is going to be my perfect transition piece from winter to spring. I will pair it will boots, off the shoulder, and the possibility of a light infinity scarf is def not out of the question. It is a versatile piece that can be worn with flats or heels...dressed up or down. Every mag is showing super stylish off the shoulder tops and dresses, and I LOVE this trend every time is rolls back around. I cannot wait to recieve it in the mail!!!

Walgreens: Tales of an Unintended Beauty Product Shopping Trip

Yesterday, I stopped by my local Walgreens for dog food...and left with two of my favorite products...Tigi Root Boost and Loreal Elnett Hairspray. Both products are reasonably priced and give just the right amount of boost and hold without the 80's crunch. I usually purchase the travel sizes...so I can take them with me on the go!

Stylin' with Tumbleweed Texstyles: Spring Shirt and Lifestyle Shoot

Last Saturday, I styled the Tumbleweed Texstyles shoot in Plano (my old high school stomping ground). The shoot was fast and furious and the accessories and shirts were flying in order to keep the shoot moving on time. Both models were sweet and agreeable regarding the fast paced changes and accessory switches that were facilitated mid shots. The scenery was outdoorsy and brushy and one could witness us climbing down trails of rocks and using beautiful abandoned tree branches as natural props. The TWT guys def had a certain aesthetic in mind and wanted us to keep with the fashionable outdoor Texas lifestyle that their brand encompasses. These Are a Few of My Favorite Things: My Oprah Moment

Right now, I'm gonna be just like Oprah and tell you about one of my favorite things...my Kashwere throw in Camel & Crème. I purchased this throw during my Aimee/Stacey girls trip a few years back and it has been a part of my bedtime ritual ever since! Today, as I was participating in my morning skin ritual...I realized how much I looked forward to putting on my face cream. A work friend named Rich gave me the heads up on Strengths Finder 2.0 by Tom Rath. The book is a guide to tapping into your strengths rather than focusing on your weaknesses. It also allows for you to understand the people you work with at a more insightful level to maximize teaming and collaboration. The book comes with a free online quiz to give you a deeper understanding of what makes you awesome. This books illuminates how we must harness our strengths into something wildly productive rather than trying to work under the contraints of a job that does not suit us. Easy Eye Shadow Game

Waking Up Tired Eyes: Part II

Morning face game

My two morning faves are my La Mer cleansing lotion and foreo face cleanser/anti aging scrub brush. The La Mer cleanser does not dry skin out (in your late 30's a gel or foam cleanser can be way too drying!) and the foreo gets off every lick of dead skin and makes the cleanser really work its magic (it also has an anti aging setting to keep wrinkles and lines away!!) I stopped using my clairsonic because bacteria would get caught in the brush (this is silicone so it stays much much cleaner!) Thanks to Shalisa at Nordy for being my go to salesgal and Bella for her stellar La Mer knowledge!!! What a great morning combo!
